NORTH CARIBOU SPRING CAMPOREE

The district has secured the Little Lemhi camprgound for the North Caribou Spring Camporee on May 2nd and 3rd.  Please watch for more details and visit our calendar for all upcoming events!

Here is a list of companies who will match Friends of Scouting employee donations and some will even give financial contributions for employees who volunteer their time.  

SUMMER CAMPS

Dates are here for the 2014 Summer Island Park, Little Lemhi, and Treasure Mountain Camps from the Council.  Multiple session dates for each camp are available.  See our district calendar and the Council Summer Camp page for additional information. 

If you are 14 or older and looking for the ultimate high adventure experience check out the council's trek to Philmont Scout Ranch summer 2014. The expedition will be lead by Robin Stewart. Click HERE for details and a registration form.

YOUTH OPPORTUNITIES

The Bonneville County Emergency Management Facebook page has many opportunities for youth involvement.  FEMA is accepting Youth Preparedness Council Applications.  Please check out their Facebook page for other Emergency Management updates and information including a 2014 Preparedness Calendar. 

There will be a Cub Scout finalists Pinewood Derby for the top two Cub Scouts from each pack's derby.  It will take place Saturday, May 3, 2014 at Sandcreek Middle School (2955 Owen St, Ammon).  Pre-registration by April 26th is required.  For more information click HERE.  If you have any questions, please feel free to contact Trina Stumpp at 208-589-7902.

SCOUTStrong PALA CHALLENGE

The BSA is introducing a new healthy lifestyle program called SCOUTStrong Presidential Active Lifestyle Award (PALA) Challenge.  You will notice this challenge is one of the items on the Journey to Excellence Scorecard for 2014 as well.  This program is an ongoing program focusing on fitness and healthy eating that all Scouts and their leaders can participate in and earn.  It requires a physical activity commitment for eight weeks and to set and meet healthy eating awards.  For more information on rolling this program out in your unit, please click HERE.
