IMPORTANT JUNE DISTRICT MEETING NOTICE

Special Update - Please spread the word to those who need to know: No District Meetings June 4th at the Cottages Building. INSTEAD all those leaders will meet at the Scout Office at 6:30 for a short business meeting, followed by at special guest speaker from National Headquarters at 7pm.

ORDER OF THE ARROW EVENTS

Order of the Arrow Work Day will be Thursday June 5 and Friday June 6 at Island Park Scout Camp.  This will be preparations for laying cement at the Fellowship the following days.

Order of the Arrow Ordeal June 6 and 7 at Island Park Scout Camp.  Ordeal, Brotherhood and Vigil Inductions offered.  We will be laying cement at the rifle range and other service.

Order of the Arrow L.E.C. June 7th at the Blackfoot Service Center.  Persons who should attend:
Lodge Officers
Lodge Advisers and Associate Advisers
Lodge Staff Adviser
Chapter Chiefs
Chapter Advisers

CUB SCOUT WAGON DERBY

Plan now to have a great time at the Cub Scout Spring Expo and covered wagon derby on May 31, 2014. Please note that it will be taking place at 49th and Ammon Road NOT McCowin Park.  Please pre-register by emailing edhensas@msn.com including Wagon Derby in the subject line and the number of scouts attending, which pack, scouts rank and the leaders who will be coming.  Click HERE for a flyer.  You may contact Ed for questions at edhensas@msn.com

SUMMER CAMPS

Dates are here for the 2014 Summer Island Park, Little Lemhi, and Treasure Mountain Camps from the Council.  Multiple session dates for each camp are available.  See our district calendar and the Council Summer Camp page for additional information. 

If you are 14 or older and looking for the ultimate high adventure experience check out the council's trek to Philmont Scout Ranch summer 2014. The expedition will be lead by Robin Stewart. Click HERE for details and a registration form.

YOUTH OPPORTUNITIES

The Bonneville County Emergency Management Facebook page has many opportunities for youth involvement.  FEMA is accepting Youth Preparedness Council Applications.  Please check out their Facebook page for other Emergency Management updates and information including a 2014 Preparedness Calendar. 

SCOUTStrong PALA CHALLENGE

The BSA is introducing a new healthy lifestyle program called SCOUTStrong Presidential Active Lifestyle Award (PALA) Challenge.  You will notice this challenge is one of the items on the Journey to Excellence Scorecard for 2014 as well.  This program is an ongoing program focusing on fitness and healthy eating that all Scouts and their leaders can participate in and earn.  It requires a physical activity commitment for eight weeks and to set and meet healthy eating awards.  For more information on rolling this program out in your unit, please click HERE.
