LEADER-SPECIFIC TRAINING

The next Leader Position-Specific training will take place February 19th at the Virlow LDS church, starting at 6:15 p.m. This training is for all new leaders in all scouting positions EXCEPT for cub scout leaders. Cub Scout Leader training will resume once new training information becomes available in March. CUB SCOUTS -- START PLANNING AHEAD!

The second annual North Caribou District Pinewood Derby for all scout LEADERS and VOA members will be at the LDS church at 4707 E. Iona Road on February 11th with weigh-in at 6:30 and the race following at 7:30. Webelos WOW will be held March 14 at the Ammon Foothills Stake Center. More details to follow.

The District Cub Scout Pinewood Derby will be held at Sandcreek Middle School with weigh-in Friday evening, May 15th from 6:45 to 9:00 pm, and the race beginning on May 16th at 9:30 a.m. Find more details at https://www.grandtetoncouncil.org/uploads/ncroundtable/NC CS Pinewood Derby flyer - 2014.pdf

The Cub Scout Wagon Derby is scheduled for May 16th following the district cub scout Pinewood Derby. More details will follow soon.

The Cub Scout Expo sponsored by the North Caribou Distrit will be held September 12, 2015. More details to follow.

DISTRICT VOLUNTEER POSITIONS

Our District is in need of volunteers to fill several positions.  Anyone within the boundaries is welcome to volunteer.  Currently we are seeking a new Webmaster and additional Roundtable staff.  If you are interested in volunteering, please email northcaribouweb@gmail.com to inquire.  Thank you for all you do for each other and most importantly, for the boys we serve.

YOUTH OPPORTUNITIES

The Bonneville County Emergency Management Facebook page has many opportunities for youth involvement.  FEMA is accepting Youth Preparedness Council Applications.  Please check out their Facebook page for other Emergency Management updates and information including a 2014 Preparedness Calendar. 

SCOUTStrong PALA CHALLENGE

The BSA is introducing a new healthy lifestyle program called SCOUTStrong Presidential Active Lifestyle Award (PALA) Challenge.  You will notice this challenge is one of the items on the Journey to Excellence Scorecard for 2014 as well.  This program is an ongoing program focusing on fitness and healthy eating that all Scouts and their leaders can participate in and earn.  It requires a physical activity commitment for eight weeks and to set and meet healthy eating awards.  For more information on rolling this program out in your unit, please click HERE.
